Format:
Open North is typical Vago. Informal, fun and friendly. Children and adults welcome and all abilities welcome. So it does not matter if your aim is to polish your skills to help you become the next national champion in the class or to work out how to put the bung in to prevent sinking or something in between, Open North is the answer.
There will be expert coaching to help you master your next steps in your Vago journey. Our team of coaches including the current National Champions, Dave and Kate, and former national champion Ed, will help you get the very best from your Vago rig and help you improve your crewing and helming skills. In addition to the tips to sharpen up the sailing skills our coaches will be sharing their wisdom about race tactics and the rules of racing.
And racing. Racing on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and afternoon and on Monday morning. Join the fleet and round the marks and see how your techniques compares to the other Vagos.
The event starts with registration on Saturday morning at 9.00, but you are welcome to arrive after 1800hrs on Friday. Earlier you are there the greater the choice of pitches for you tent or camper.
Travel:
For those of you travelling from the South, it's up the M1 and A1 to Wetherby and then hang a left to enjoy 3 days (4 if you include Friday night) of FREE camping at a superb venue with facilities that are honestly astounding.
More detailed directions from the YDSC website are here.
We'll be running Friday as an arrival/setup evening if you want to arrive early but don't worry if you can't make it, the event won't officially start until Saturday morning.
If you're interested in being part of the 9th Year of this event, you can join the chat on the Vago Facebook Group.
in other words... yet another year of not taking it too seriously!

The clubhouse itself has modern changing and shower facilities with under floor heating.
There are a selection of camp sites and guest houses from only 10 minutes away if we're too noisy for you :)
