Standard Terms and Conditions for participation in want2sail.co.uk activities.

If you are unsure as to whether you are able to take part in any activity, or you have any questions concerning these want2sail.co.uk Terms and Conditions, please contact us via email before requesting a reservation.

For the purposes of these terms:
Helmsman and want2sail.co.uk both mean Dave Baxter.
You means the person taking part in any activity provided by want2sail.co.uk

1. Important Notices

1.1 Sailing has inherent risks. You accept these risks and are responsible for your own actions and involvement.

1.2 To take part in activities provided by want2sail.co.uk you should be in good physical health and able to undertake and successfully complete the relevant activity assessment.

1.3 By requesting activities provided by want2sail.co.uk, you have accepted and agreed that you comply with these Terms and Conditions.

1.4 By requesting activities provided by want2sail.co.uk on behalf of others, you are responsible for ensuring that those people all comply with these Terms and Conditions.

1.5 The use of the water will be dependent on the proper fitting of safety equipment as determined by the helmsman running the activity.

1.6 Buoyancy aids must be worn for all activities taking place on the water.

1.7 You confirm that you meet the Requirements stated on the want2sail.co.uk website for the requested activity being provided.

1.8 You accept that if you fail an activity assessment or decide to stop participating in an activity at any time, you will not be entitled to a refund.

2. Children and Young People

2.1 A want2sail.co.uk Parental Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian must be submitted for all participants under 18 years old before the activity can be reserved. This form will be sent to you during the reservation process and must be brought with you on the day of your activity.

2.2 Age restrictions apply. A participant must be at least 8 years old at the time of the activities.

3. Cancellation

3.1 If you would like to cancel a booking, let us know by email.

4 Rescheduling

4.1 Re-sheduling by you. Subject to availability, and at the sole discretion of want2sail.co.uk, you may reschedule the date of the activity booked up to 14 days before the activity start date.

4.2 Re-sheduling due to unsuitable conditions. You'll be contacted a few days before your Session to confirm that everything is still going ahead or to give you the option to reserve another available dates. If no more dates are available, you can carry your reservation over to the next year or receive a full refund of anything you have already paid.

5. Equipment and Supervision

5.1 If you choose to use your own craft/equipment it is your responsibility to ensure that the craft/equipment is of satisfactory quality and fit for the purpose of the activity undertaken. If you have any concerns regarding the compliance of your equipment you should, at the time of booking, contact want2sail.co.uk and you will be provided with advice.

5.2 want2sail.co.uk reserves the right to inspect your craft/equipment. want2sail.co.uk will not be held liable for any losses (and for the
avoidance of doubt no refund will be given) if any craft/equipment to be used is, in the opinion of want2sail.co.uk, unsafe or not suitable for the relevant activity.

5.3 want2sail.co.uk does not guarantee that any of the techniques you see or try during your activity will be transferable to any other activity which carries inherently different risks.

5.4 Safety briefings are given in English. In order to safely participate in any want2sail.co.uk ctivity you must be able to understand the briefing in full. If you do not understand any aspect of the safety briefing given to you, please ask for clarification at the time of the briefing, before you participate in the activity.

6. Respecting our staff and other customers

6.1 By requesting activities provided by want2sail.co.uk, you agree to follow all instructions given the helmsman.

6.2 If you do not act in accordance with these want2sail.co.uk Terms and Conditions your activity will end without any entitlement to a refund.

6.3 Dangerous or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are part of a group which causes a disturbance, the group will be treated as one and the activity provided will end without any entitlement to a refund.

6.4 Any participant suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will be deemed unfit to participate in an activity and shall not be entitled to a refund.

7. Liability

7.1 As stated in the Standard Terms, want2sail.co.uk shall not be liable for:

7.1.1 any damage or loss of any property or items belonging to you, any member of your group or any third parties; or
7.1.2 personal injury or death of any person but only so far as such injury or death is not caused by want2sail.co.uk's negligence.

8. Policies and information

8.1. You agree to be bound by the Rules and Regulations in operation at the sailing club at which the want2sail.co.uk activity is taking place.

8.2. If any person taking part in an activity provided by want2sail.co.uk is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the activity provided will end without any entitlement to a refund.
